He was hired by Sitel Corporation as the CEO of their India business, a JV with the Tata Group (a $110 Billion conglomerate). After he and his team turned around this ITeS business in record time of 22 months, by achieving 300% organic revenue growth and 600% ebitda improvement, he was promoted to CEO & MD of Pan Asia leading 5 legal entities in Singapore, Hong Kong and India and managing operations in 10+ cities across 5 countries. He was the leader of the merger integration with a JV with ITC Corporation (a $50 Billion group) with additional responsibilities as CEO & MD of that new company. In 4 years, his operations had grown 8 times with ~7000 employees and ~ $100M in offshore client revenues (~ approximately $300M US revenues) and profitability had grown > 900% achieving significant ROI improvement for the shareholders while simultaneously delighting customers and employees.

Leveraging Technology and Innovation
His career includes long tenures as a Director at fortune 100 companies like Dell Inc., at their HQ in Texas and York International Corp (now Johnson Controls, Inc.) at their HQ in Pennsylvania, USA. He is widely viewed as one of the pioneers in the outsourcing industry, with the distinction of starting Dell’s worldwide outsourcing strategy involving transition and management of over 17,000 technical and customer support professionals to more than 15 centers in India, Philippines and Latin America from the US & Europe and reducing $900M spend to $340M approximately. His other area of expertise is in managing global supply chains for Fortune 500 global companies; where he led initiatives to increase efficiencies through e-enablement and seamlessly integrating global supply chain networks; implemented multiple e-Procurement, CRM, SCM, PLM, ERP and MRP projects (like i2 technologies, Aspect Development, Ariba, Agile, SAP, Oracle, etc.) managing budgets >$200 million to enable Dell in efficiently designing, sourcing and procuring materials and products >$30 Billion and supply chain planning to near zero inventory.

Demonstrating Industry Leadership
As the President of the world’s 4th largest TiE Chapter (The Indus Entrepreneurs) he led many initiatives that foster innovation and entrepreneurship in areas such as Technology, Smart cities, IoT, Healthcare, Cloud, Mobility, AI, ML, Data Sciences and E-Commerce. As a board member of YPO (Young Presidents Organization), he drove initiatives that won him Regional Awards. As Chair of the ICT and SME committee of FICCI, he let initiatives to further innovation and technology adoption across multiple industry sectors. As a part of Nasscom BPO CEO forum he helped steer industry success in the early years. He is also a Mentor at T-Hub and ISB accelerator.

Academic excellence
Safir obtained his Master's degree from Southern Illinois University, USA, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude, with Honors. He graduated with a B. Tech from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, India in the Top 5% of his University Class and was a valedictorian in his “A” levels. He is an alumnus of the GAMP program from Kellogg School of management, Northwestern University and Indian School of Business as well as the Venture Capitalist Development Program from ISB.
